1:1 Strategic Meeting

The deadline for registering for the vendor showcase has passed. 40 preselected certified diverse suppliers will have the opportunity to conduct 2-3 minute capabilities presentation. The audience will include representatives and primes from the participating cable company that will be able to request a 1:1 meeting for the afternoon 1:1 Strategic Connections.

1:1 Strategic Meetings

Attending DBEs participating in the showcase will received requested 1:1 meetings as well as DBEs not selected for the showcase will have the opportunity to request meetings onsite.

Focused Mini Workshops

During the Vendor Showcase, multiple industry-specific mini-workshops will take place in the general session room allowing DBEs to learn key industry trends. Topics Include: Tips to Doing Business in the Cable Industry - presented by a success DBE prime suppliers, Global Impacts and Industry Trends - presented by cable company representative(s), Critical Insight to Doing Business with Cable Companies - led by a Procurement Specialist

Immediately after the morning programs, all attendees will be able to hear directly from participating cable companies.

Welcome by Comcast, Charter Communications & Cox Communications with Executive Remarks by Marcos Vicente, Vice President of Finance and Business Operations, Comcast, California Region 

 


9:15 am - 9:30 am  (PST) - Keeping America Connected.

Sam Attisha, Senior Vice President at Cox Communications, will provide a state-of-the-union of the cable industry in California. The industry is focusing on marketing expansion and rural development which comes with CPUC regulations. Attending diverse suppliers will receive insider insight to opportunities tied to changes and expansion within the cable industry. The keynote will also address additional initiatives tied to infrastructure, community impact and supplier diversity.

9:30 am - 10:00 am (PST) - Procurement with a Purpose 

Economic impact is key for Cox, Charter, and Comcast and is accomplished through partnerships with diverse-owned companies like Magic Cleaning, American Fashion Network, and Ampcus. Tune in to hear from top tier 1 suppliers on how they are giving back to diverse communities. How they have aligned their values with critical cable company community initiatives and culture. The best part, each company will share results on how they have an even deeper impact within the communities in which they live, and work and the cable companies serve.

10:00 am - 10:30 am (PST) Winning Together – Tier 1 and 2 Partnership Success 

Top cable Tier 1 partners will share key pieces to success within Tier 1 and Tier 2 relationships for diverse businesses in the cable industry. The Rapid Fireside Chat will share incredible insight into the journey of developing relationships and winning business with cable companies. The successful Prime and Subcontractor panel will discuss what it takes to pivot as corporations change and the critical need to constantly align your company as a strategic partner at all levels.

10:30 am - 10:40 am (PST) - Cable Community Impact

Cox, Comcast and Charter will share important initiatives and community impact. 



10:40 am - 11:00 am  (PST) - Executive Closing Remarks 

Rahman Kahn, Vice President, Community Impact, Charter Communications closes out the 11th Annual Cable Supplier Diversity Symposium with insight to the cable industries impact on the communities in which they live and serve.

 

12:30 pm - 2:30 pm (PST) - 1:1 Strategic Matchmaking

Diverse Suppliers who successfully register and submit a company description and keywords by October 27, 2020 will be reviewed and preselected by Cable Company representatives and prime suppliers. Individual meeting invites will be sent by calendar invite and will include all parties that will participate in the 1:1 virtual meeting. Each meeting will take place in the Cable Company and/or prime suppliers preferred virtual meeting room. Please review all meeting invites to make sure you can access the Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, or other link(s).
